Plenty of questions spring to mind looking through these figures.
Devonport have the hardest run home on paper but the Knights have a derby coming up and the in-form Somerset are in a must win situation against Rangers to be in with a chance for 4th. Devonport must travel away to take on both contenders. Exciting end to the season! Who will get up?
a win and 2 draws will do for devonport, although i cant see them dropping any points on current form
ReplyDeleteIf you could get a three sided coin flipping it would be your best bet to picking the winner.
ReplyDeleteAn injury to McKenna would stop Devonport. Knights in the box seat with the run home.
ReplyDeleteDev Reserves have wrapped up their league with three games to go. That makes it 3 in a row i think. Yeah bois.
ReplyDeleteDevonport
ReplyDeleterumour going around League 1 yesterday, was that Toby has quit Knights truth or just the normal BS that goes on?
ReplyDeleteIt depends on who the draw is against

ReplyDeleteYou are assuming they will still have a higher goal dif !
The fact is whoever wins all there games will be likely champions.
ReplyDeleteWill be interesting to see how Knights handle the run home, as they have never been here before.
All teams with tough games
Assuming top 3 win the next round games and assuming Knights win the following:
ReplyDeleteDev v Rangers = draw
Dev 37
PK 37
NR 35
Dev v Rangers = Dev win
Dev 39
PK 37
NR 34
Dev v Ranger = Rangers win
PK 37
NR 37
Dev 36
This is how it would look like into the last round !
So the game Dev v Rangers with a loss to either side could make it very hard !
Your assumption is of course that all 3 teams win their next league match
ReplyDeleteIf Rangers lose to Devonport, their season will be over. In saying this, I expect Devonport to win all 3 games and win the league, they have been the best side since just before Easter
ReplyDeleteI don't think it will come down to the last round as Devonport should beat Ulverstone & Rangers and Knights will drop a game to either River or City.
ReplyDeleteAny news on the state league meeting yesterday?
ReplyDeleteanon 18:26
ReplyDeleteWhy do you think Knights will drop a game ?
p.s If Rangers beat Devonport they are gone !
regardless of who beats who and who ends up winning, the league has had plenty to offer this year with the league probably going down to the last round. the three top teams on their day are capable of beating one another.there has been a lot written this year however surely the best that can be written is well done to all teams as each week most teams are competitive and still no sure winners on any given day. in such a close season you need consitency however there is also the element of fortune to keep all players on the park and take your chances that come around. to all the league participants i encourage you to keep investing time in your clubs by bringing the youth on as it will only be a matter of time before you reap the benefits.lastly i hope all the northern clubs get behind devonport this weekend and stick it up those southerners in the cup as i am sick to death of hearing how much better they are.
ReplyDeleteTop 3 record against each other so far in 2011:
ReplyDeleteDevonport played 2 1 win 1 loss
Knights played 3 1 win 2 losses
Rangers played 3 2 wins 1 loss
People worry to much about bagging the crap out of each other on here. Lets face it if we are honest the southern league is better than ours as a whole in terms of overall standard. yes i said it.

ReplyDeletethat's is true but more telling is;
dev beat rangers- meet again
PK beat Dev - meet again
but when dev meet Pk they weren't in full stride
were dev in full stride all the other times knights have constantly beat them over the last few years
ReplyDeletePretty sure Dev & Knights lose their home games against each other quite regularly. Dev won at Knights ground last year.
ReplyDeleteDont think it matters whats happened in the past does it? Its all about who shows up on the day and takes their chances!
ReplyDeletesplitting the top 3 in the NPL is near impossible.
Ive seen the best and worst of both the strikers and the knights this year, hopefully they both bring their best! If they do then us spectators will be in a for a absolute shootout!
Im not a Strikers club member, but I would love to see Devonport smash atleast 10 past Olympia on the weekend, just to shut up the cocky bastards from down south.
ReplyDeleteCome on Strikers, do it for the North of the State. The better half!
Ha the better half?
ReplyDeleteYou must be having a joke here.
South will win it
there is 3 teams left and people are still talking about the last round.Don't forget they all have 3 games left and all have 3 hard games,Devonport has Ulvie and they are looking at a top 4 which they haven't seen for a while,Also if you look at last time comments Ulvie players think Dev defence has a few holes,so ulvie put your goals where your mouth is.Then Dev play rangers,Rangers play Sommerset at Sommerset which is no easy game and i think they can make top 4 if they win every game and rangers play Dev and ulvie and that game could also mean Ulvie could have to win that 1 to make the finals. The knights have to play River at River and thats always a hard game and on there day are very hard to beat at home,Also they play City which we all no they always love to beat knights and they would love to beat us so they can't win the tile.So yes there are 3 teams left but there are teams still can make the top 4,So they have something to play for aswell.
