  3. Ulverstone lucky... A few helpful decisions from referee got them across the line. Lonnie was clearly the better side. Neutral spectator.

  4. Chris Hunt Loves the ntca, absolute pants down effort, how a man can out jump a keeper and not score against a guy who can use his hands is a disgrace though!!!!

  5. Do Rangers need to put the price of their beer down or were Riverside just not that thirsty after the game?

  7. Watched Som.and Knights.
Entertaining game with Knights missing 5 players[according to their manager]and some players returning to Som. line-up.First half knights missing some good chances and second half fast flowing game with Sesse being shown the red card.A draw may have been a fairer result perhaps.

  9. Had L'ton Utd Scored Their Penalty When It Was At 1-1, Would Of Been A different game Altogether. The Penalty Against Them Was Abit Harsh To Give Ulvie The Lead,.

And The U18s' Game L'ton Utd Got Given Possibly The Worst Penalty Ever. The Referee Was VERY Average, I Think Ulvie 18s' Deserved At Least A Draw.

  10. What did sessay get a red for?

    ReplyDelete
  11. Knights were missing

    Croswell - car broke down
    Baker- overseas
    Harris- overseas
    Compagne- overseas
    Toby- overseas

A u18 player played two games, Atherton back from injury and subed at 50mins, Pickering played with hamstring strain and subed, sessay unfairly sent off for swearing at a player(not heard by anyone but ref)

all this said it was a great fighting win away from home and deserved full points!

  12. pc i no you wear glasses so use them count the 5 players missing from the game against burnie and we had pip and pickers off before 60mins and an under 18 player which doubled up so if you write things on hear why don't you tell the truth

  13. Not sure wat u were spectating but to say lonnie was 'clearly' the better side is rubbish. And helpful descions? A foul in the box is a penalty and if the ball crosses the line its a goal....an even game with Ulverstone creating but not finishing a lot of chances.

Fail to understand what you are talking about.List of missing Knights players are stated by anonymous 18.02 and my ref has nothing to do with Burnie.Truth, is my motto my friend and always sober when I write.

mother%^&@er i think you will find, was weird decision really as was only just audible to players on the ground but i suppose the ref heard it, having said that credit to be given to knights to pull 2 goals back with 10 men, was a very even game i thought and both teams had chances for the win maybe a draw would have been a fair result but knights fought well for the win

    ReplyDelete
  19. watched the whole somerset, prospect game and to be honest somerset deserved at least a point. They dominated a lot of the game.coulve easily won.they were very disappointed with the loss but should take heart from their performance.

  20. how else would any of you act towards racial slurs against yourself ? the words that came from an individuals mouth from Somerset towards sessay were not acceptable in any code of modern day football or society in general

  21. thanx TD for the comments it was a hard fought win and your young team played well.As for you PC if you tell the truth you would have said because you were watching the game that the knights had several players missing the way you wrote it sound like that the manager for the knights made it up.Maybe you are sober but those glass need defogging because you commented to the wrong post but good work LOL.

  24. any other send offs in any other games? One at Somerset so far? need to know for our tipping comp!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Captain Australia your tipping would have been up the S@#T last week because you think no rangers player would get sent off.But Issa is one of the most dirtiest players this season using that elbow and i no that at your training he"s been pushed and put to the ground for using that and the refs no about this elbow and are on the watch i can see 5 weeker coming up hahaha.

I now have an idea who you may be and surprised at your unnecessary comments. However I have been around too long [as you may know] and can take anything [that is why I, unlike yourself do put my name down every time]
You did see me at the game and all I stated was what your people told me..that you were so many players short. I do not know all your players to understand who goes on or comes off.
Hope to see you on Saturday.

  27. Are you serious? At no point at all was there any racist comments made at Saturdays match between Shaks and knights,Sessay lost his cool because i was telling him he was getting a bath from our defence,he told me i had hairy legs that was his comeback and all i said was when you get over 3 foot tall maybe you would grow some hair to,thats when he called me a mother !#%#er,Nothing at all racist,If something racist was said why wouldnt of there been more as when the referee came over we were both heading in different directions setting up for the free kick.Dont start crap like this when there was nothing there.

  29. Good call Mitch.

I wasn't going to publish the posts that mentioned racial comments but my fellow moderator saw fit to publish them before I could delete them. It is just going to go back and forward and get nowhere. Chris has said his version and IF it is an issue of that nature it should be dealt with by the two clubs committees and not become a 'yes he did, no he didn't' slanging match on this blog.

  30. Its the old story Dave, "he say, you say" maybe we need to remember there is a white line that we cross and what happens on the pitch should stay on the pitch, too easy for those not involved to misunderstand or not see the whole episode from start to finish, as you would know some actions/reactions can take a while to develop over the course of 90 minutes, often its the slow boil that does the job.
And this from a bloke who wore glasses and no teeth his whole career, I heard some beauties!

  33. Yep not one Riverside player came in the bar after the game poor form. In saying that after seeing the photo in yesterdays paper, the bench looked like they were going to cry.

Final four is decided 3 playing for the championship should be a cracking finishing to the year.

  34. "Just a comment. Thanks to South Hobart for putting on some food at the Cascade Hotel. Went back and had a couple of beers with a few Olympia guys and there were some South people, we just chatted about the games, talked some bullshit which is always fun.Having a chat with Gary Upton who was going hard on the guiness about the Ressies game we both agreed it was hard fought and very physical game good to see clubs bringing back the tradition of a quiet drink after the game."

Interesting quote from Walters blog, shame not one riverside player or supporter bothered to stay around after saturdays game particularly when Rangers were raising funds for breast cancer awareness.
    Poor form

  35. In fairness to riverside, they drank well during the game, up until around 4pm anyway.

  37. Referring to anon 14 june 02:26.

First I'd like to thank Nick for a decent NW blog this year, as I'm sure it would involve a bit of time off his own back to maintain. Great being able to keep an eye on things despite not living in the Apple Isle. I would agree with Anon's comment that the weekends display would not give Ulvie a "contender to the title" status. Although saying, Laun United did a great job, and played good football at times, I hope they take a big scalp before the season ends. Also Ulv will push for a top three result, taking a good scalp also... I hope. I might also refer to Burnie's continuing saga of discipline. Yeah, they have questionable discipline at times, which needs addressing but also I can appreciate good fair aggression. Finding that balance I suppose. I was never a good player but will always admire a bloke that will get a hard ball whilst also able to take a hard tackle without complaint also. Yes, within the rules I understand, but soft blokes shouldn't play contact sport....A lot of opinions on this site, interesting to see I've rarely read a bloke being able to reflect on something said or done and admitted they could have been possibly wrong... Interesting season so far, I hope results continue to vary.

three weeks for giving some one evil eyes after a match, is a little hard done by.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Burnie are imploding big time, they have no chance of beating Knights on the weekend with or without Sessay.

Burnie could be Lonnie uniteds only scalp of 2011

  44. Very sad if true as the referees will not miss them but their club will as they are both very good players.
How can we blame them though as playing the other code they get paid instead of paying even at the gate. Our game is gradually becoming a farce with the refs being the main atraction.
Players can appeal against the ref's decision at a cost and the appeal is usually heard by ex referees. Is this justice or may I call it dictatorship.I am not blaming the administration but the rules they are operating under and perhaps about time to have another look at them.

  45. True PC,but they dont want to work within the rules. And that is the problem anyway, yes they are both good players that have been lost to the game.

Sheryl finishing up at end of season, who will be the new leader at Burnie?

    ReplyDelete
  46. ANonymous 19.36,
They are not dirty players but I would say they commit themselves fully and in the process they fall victims of their efforts.
As for Sheryl..yes I understand she gave the committee notice and I hope that a suitable replacement is found early to get involved and learn all that is required for a smooth transition.and hard and thankless job.
Have done it for many years but they tell me it involves a lot more these days with...all the new rules and regulations.
