Launceston City v Burnie United
This looks to be a fairly even match up. If results go City’s way they could find themselves in the top 4. Most people outside of the club would have thought a top 4 spot was out of reach but with some solid performances against some of the title contenders they are proving that they are a real chance to be top four or higher. It seems an eternity since Burnie registered their only win against ladder leaders Northern Rangers in the first round. The pressure has probably come off this group as far as living up to being title contenders so it wouldn’t surprise me if they started putting wins on the board.
Ulverstone v Devonport
Devonport will be brimming with confidence after their courageous win over Burnie last week with only ten men. Ulverstone will be sure to find an extra gear on last week’s performance as it has been a long time since they have tasted success over their coastal rivals.
Prospect v Riverside
Not much needs to be said about these two. Both teams will be looking to knock Rangers from top spot by season’s end and this game will have a fairly significant bearing on who that might be. Croswell started on the bench last week. Has he done enough at training to force his way back into the side? We’ll see.
Rangers v Somerset
There wouldn’t be too many punters keen to put their money on Somerset but they surprised Devonport a few weeks back and will be looking to do the same again against Rangers. Rangers had a scare against bottom side Launceston United last week and will be looking to come out and put Somerset away early to dampen the Sharks spirit.
