Some interesting games to complete the first half of what I think is a season too short.
Every team dropping points and every team has now lost a game, which makes things very tight again.

Here is the equation as stated by one of our anonymous posters:  Green for opposition currently below them, Red for opposition above on the table

Devonport lead the league with Riverside and Launceston to play

Rangers have Burnie, L'ton City and Somerset
Knights play Riverside, Ulverstone and L'ton City
Ulverstone face Knights and Launceston
Riverside meet Knigthts, Devonport and Somerset

  1. Devonport to win them both turn with 19

Rangers to win their 3 turn with 21

Knights to win river and city games and too close to call the ulive clash so 18 to 21 points

Ulvie to beat lonnie as above with Knights so 14 to 17 points

River to drop 2 and beat Somerset so 13 points

  3. Nice work captain Aus.

But I have a question for Anton or even maybe Coxy.

Is it true Matty seesay will be back for knights? And in time for next weeks game???

If so, their tittle chances may strengthen again...

  11. Knights and Rangers big suprise packets for me, both sitting in the box seat with a game in hand of Devonport and Ulvie. Both have lost players and dont look as strong on paper.

On paper Devonport and Ulverstone look to have the better squads, and they still may win it. Top four the same as last year I reckon.

  13. No surprise at all that Knights and Rangers are leading the pack again. They both are well drilled to play a system and not rely on any one or two standout players to get results. They are systems that both clubs have been playing for several years and any player can come into the team and know their role. They are especially well drilled in defensive shape and cover something that both Devenport and especially Ulverstone struggle with. I think Ulverstone looked more dangerous last season, they are too predictable at the moment. Its not to say they wont challenge but will need to be more defensively minded to go all the way. Its no coincidence that the premierships teams of the last few years have had the best defenses.

    1. The last time a side won the NPL without the best defence was Somerset in 07 with 17 goals against and Devonport finished 2nd conceeding 15, but somerset did win it with 7 points to spare.
