A Look at the Table after Round 7

After 7 rounds, the ladder is starting to look pretty set for the top three, with a fight developing for the final spot for the finals.
Riverside and Somerset have some breathing space now with Devonport and Rangers drawing, while that result is great for the chasing pack hunting down fourth spot.
Devonport's Dan McGinn controls in front of John Wani for Rangers
Ulverstone looked sharp in their match today against Prospect, controlling most of the game, it wasn’t until Van Asch was sent off for defending his team mate Jarvis, that Prospect started to play really controlled passing football.
Ulverstone attacked well in wide areas and found two goals from cut backs, while their sole second half goal was a fine drive from their midfield off the boot of Lang.
Prospect looked like they might have clawed the lead back early in the second half when two shots narrowly missed their target, having beaten Smith in Ulverstone’s goal.
The 3-0 away win to Ulverstone leap frogs Prospect into sixth spot on the table.
Launceston United had a weekend to forget, succumbing to 3 send offs in their match with Riverside, but the damage was already done with Riverside leading 3-0 before the unusual events took place.
5-0 win to Riverside cements them in top spot, despite the big turnaround from Somerset.
The Sharks gave City a lesson in football and goal scoring, bagging 12 goals against their younger opposition, who were reduced to 10 men before you could blink, making the big task insurmountable for Lino and his lads.  12-1 the final score at Shark Park.
Rangers and Devonport played out a 2 all draw after the first hour was scoreless.  Devonport opening the scoring through a McGinn free kick just outside the area, before Stef Hamilton drove a shot after he made his way up field from right back.  Chris Collins put Rangers ahead from the corner but Devonport headed home shortly after to put things all square and he final result.

  1. Riverside have only play 6 should be equal on points with Somerset, with the sharks having a bye this week and Riverside playing Prospect?

  2. I have removed, I just took of sporting pulse and assumed no results had been entered to table, so put them in manually, will leave it until SP updates.

  3. The Riverside v Launceston game was fairly even with both teams creating chances, went downhill with the score at 2 nil to Riverside when the 3 players were sent off, an unbelievable 5 minutes to watch

  6. Whoever reckons that the Launceston v Riverside game was 'fairly even' probably thinks Launceston United have been 'fairly successful' over the last 5 years...

  9. Not a bad combo at all Ben, maybe Ulverstone could be pro active and look at this if it is not true. 2 premiership players back when the NPL was at its best. I like it...
