Devonport Go Down To Newtown

Devonport were on the wrong side of a 3-2 result that saw Newtown White Eagle go through to the State final. In a very entertaining game, Devonport couldn't find an equaliser after White Eagle went ahead with about 10 minutes to go. Jordan Douce and Daniel McGinn were the goal scorers for Devonport. Nathan Gratton was best on ground in a solid midfield role and McDonald played exceptionally well in what was probably his last appearance for the club, but it wasn't to be Devonport's day.

  3. Are all the coaches for next year known for sure?

  4. Thanks for your time and effort this year, Nick. A new post for George Dale and Fred Paice tips perhaps? As well as Unders and Womens. Surely FFT can't mess it up as badly as last year. Forgetting to book the venue and, therefore, having to change it at the last minute. Revealing the GD Medal winner halfway through the night, McKenna stripped of three votes which would have seen him share the award with Todd Hingston? If I was from FFT I would be embarrassed. Finally, a question for you Nick. How could Joel Stone and Ben Foote not be in the top 3 vote winners for Ulverstone???

  5. Possibly a post for NPL team of the year. I would be interested to hear peoples opinions on who they would select in their side and the possible combinations/formations people would choose.

  6. I have been in Qld for a week and did not see the final. If you saw it then you could write one and send it to me.

Not certain of any coaches for next year. My club has advertised the job and I will be applying for it again. As for any other club I could only speculate. I am pretty sure Troy Scott will not be coaching River unless he has had a change of thinking since the last time we spoke. I don't think McGinn is doing Dev. All others I have no idea about. Not sure of McGinn's or Scott's replacements.

As for the Joel Stone and Ben Foote question... I think that as far as George Dale votes go they will poll the most from our club. When we win they tend to stand out. Joel's only problem as far as this goes is that he gets a lot of yellows. As far as B&F votes at the club go we have had a preliminary count with 4 games to go. Joel is leading but there are another 5 players that can still overtake him. these are Ben and Adrian Foote, Dallas Baldock, Conor Meaney and Ben Hutchinson. Winner announced at the club dinner.

  7. Sorry Nick. I should have been more clear. FFT release information regarding the top 3 vote winners from each club. I had a gander at the loist and neither Joel Stone or Ben Foote were listed for Ulverstone. Maybe I was seeing things? Can anyone confirm this?

  8. Well there you go... it would have been fairly tight I guess. Michael Grey would have stood out and Conor Meaney had a few stand-out games. Dallas Baldock is always solid and Adrian Foote had his best year. I would assume it would be out of those 4 if Joel and Ben aren't in.

    NO

  9. Sharks will retain Johnny Wheeler and rest except maybe Womens.
All teams improved over the year so only positives at the club.
