  1. Are people going to sit up and start taking notice of City now? Who would of thought they would be in the top four? They have been pretty impressive so far this year yet for some reason not a lot of people rate them.
Does it surprise anyone that Ulverstone are slipping? A few easy games to start the year had a few people starting to think they were the real deal but they still can't match it with the top sides. Hard work will never make up for quality.
I think Riverside may be in danger of dropping off the pace a little so all in all it looks to be down to three.

  2. launnie city lost to launnie united in the statewide cup and have only beaten Burnie, Launnie united and somerset in the league although they had a commendable draw with northern rangers and drew with riverside. These results are good but lets leave the judgement until they have beaten one of the so called "big three"-Devonport, Rangers and Knights

  3. I think the City supporters have done enough damge to your club by posting on these forums, this is another reason why you should stop posting. what would you like us to do for you? take out a full page ad in the examiner explaining how sorry we are for writting you off at the begining of the season? get a grip! And hard work will make up for quality, particularly when that quaility becomes over weight and slow!

  6. as a regular reader of this section i get amazed at the amount of small minded comments that go on here after the results. in my opinion watching all teams this year every team has improved to make the competition very good and on any day the 3 points can go to any team.i think instead of speculating people should be pleased that there are some genuine improvements and maybe if this was round 14 or 15 we could write teams off.
in my opinion ulverstone are not slipping they got beat by a team that could win the league and for city a win is a win and anybody would be silly not to atke notice of them.hadrwork and teamwork is certainly a quality that every club needs along with the balance that experience and youth can bring. i do applaud all clubs for introducing youth as waht i have seen exciting times are ahead for all clubs.any way stop the bitching and post positive comments on here and let us enjoy northern soccer as a group rather than reading dribble................

  7. very well said anon 17.39 everyone bags city... ohh they have only beaten such and such devonport have lost to somerset knights and havn't played rangers or riverside so howcome no one bags them out black and white have their spirit back and do have quality

  8. The reason anon 18:32 that know one is bagging the other teams, is that they dont get on here and say how good they are. Goodluck to City for an improved performance, however they are no chance of winning league. They play a hoof it long style which involves going route 1 to Macri (who is a good player). They have an English Centre back whos every second word is lets get stuck in lads, which is becoming addictive as that is what their keeper says every third word.

City will finish 5th or 6th which in itself is a big improvement, but please, please, please stop telling us how good you are.

I to commend all clubs on playing youth as it is and will pay dividends. And yes it is a good season my top 4 in no order Knights, Rangers, Devonport and River, followed closely by Ulvie and City

  9. Another player sent off for Burnie, what is going on Sammy?

  10. I have asked Sam a few questions in an email. I hope he replies but fair enough if he doesn't. Hopefully all the info comes straight from the horse's mouth. That way the anonymous brigade don't have to speculate. I am scratching my head in regards to Ulvie's form at the moment so I can only imagine what Sam is going through.

From the interaction I've had with Sam, he seems like a sincere bloke who is always happy to help with info for the blog.

I can only imagine he's trying his hardest to fix some of the problems. If he needs to discipline players, does he have the necessary players to step up and replace them and give him a win? Or are we all looking too much into what might be a bad run of luck?

  11. Nick, Sam is a good bloke. I am sure he is doing everything to sort out their problems. I have only seen them play once this year so I am not sure of the circumstances behind all these red cards but from what I have heard it was head butting this weekend and the other 3 or 4 were for abusing officials.
Surely they can't all be bad luck????

  14. I love it when people post naive comments ,gives me something to laugh at, In my opinion I reckon city will go close to winning the league , I also believe that prospect knights as per usual will fade off towards the end of the year( they have started well like most years ) , but time will tell, but the intelligent people on here will be prove me wrong I bet ? !.

  15. Having trouble composing posts at the moment. Will have the Sam Cocks interview up as soon as I figure it out.

  16. making naive comments on here seems not to be purely the domain of others( anon 01:12 ). I do however agree that knights have had ( note had )a problem with staying focussed for the entire season.however as you state time will tell, and you seem to be a betting man .id personally be happy to accomodate a token wager on your oponion of cities prospects if you would so wish.

your coments point out your problem!

Instead of being upbeat with an improving young squad you want to talk about titles! That culture will not develop your squad just put pressure on it.

But hey go ahead and get carried away as it hurts more when it comes crashing down!
